What's Keeping You From Trusting Him?

Text Box: Luke‬ ‭5:4-6‬ ‭NIV “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.” In my opinion, this is a great example of blind faith, trust, and obedience. We want to fix it ourselves, however, once we let go and let God, He will give us more blessings than we can handle as with the fisherman breaking their nets. Within these verses Peter and his peers had been out fishing all night. They were tired, hungry and sleepy. Just the process of casting the heavy nets over the side of the boat, hauling them up by hand, finding the nets empty and repeating it over and over until dawn is back breaking and disappointing! Jesus said put down your net - remember these are expert fishermen so their experience and knowledge say no because they know they will not have any success because of the time of day. But, Jesus said yes. So, based on God’s word Peter was Obedient and put down the net. God will reach out and talk to us and sometimes it will not make sense to us. We have to Trust Him. When you get tired and want to give up...don’t stop. Don’t stop praying because you have not gotten the promotion, don't stop praying because your child is not responding to your parenting, don't stop praying because you haven’t met your financial goals. Remember, when we fail or we think God is not listening to us we should remain Obedient to His Word. The fisherman were ready to give up. Know that God and God alone has the Power to turn past defeat into future VICTORY. Amen Luke 5: 4-6
